If you love clean romance mixed with edge-of-your-seat suspense, this one will keep you saying “just one more chapter”… and then suddenly it’s midnight.
Submerged kicks off a Christian suspense series set in small-town Alaska, where former friends Bailey Craig and deep-sea diver Cole McKenna are forced to work together when a murder investigation turns personal. What starts as an awkward reunion quickly turns into a dangerous search for the truth — with icy waters, old secrets, and very real threats closing in.
What I loved most about this story was the pacing. It moves fast without feeling rushed. There’s always something happening — dives, clues, close calls — but the heart of the story is really about trust, forgiveness, and second chances. The romance is sweet and tension-filled without being cheesy, and the faith element feels natural rather than preachy.
The Alaska setting also felt fresh and different. The cold water rescue scenes were intense (I could practically feel the freezing ocean), and it gave the suspense a unique twist you don’t see in most small-town mysteries.
Content-wise, this is completely clean — no language or spice — which makes it a great pick if you like your suspense thrilling but wholesome. I’d feel comfortable recommending it to teens and adults alike.
I’d especially recommend this book for readers who:
- enjoy clean romantic suspense
- like strong female leads
- love small-town or wilderness settings
- want faith woven naturally into the story
If you’re looking for a cozy-but-thrilling Christian suspense series to dive into, this is a great place to start. I linked it here if you want to check it out.
